In just 20 minutes, you can have the best dish soup to serve today! This 5-Ingredient Chicken Tortilla Soup just became my new favorite! I fell in love with it instantly. I got this recipe 3 days ago, and I plan on having it a part of my life for a very long time! Anyway, as I said, you only need 5 ingredients for this recipe. I am pretty sure you already have them. 2 c chicken broth
1 can (15 ounces) of petite diced tomatoes (do not drain)
1 can (15 ounces) of chili beans (do not drain)
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp cumin
2 c cooked chicken, shredded or chunked
1 can (16 ounces) of refried beans
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp chili powder
shredded cheese, tortilla chips, sour cream, avocado chunks for toppings
1. Add chicken broth, tomato slices, beans, onion powder, cumin, cooked chicken, refried beans, garlic powder, and chili powder into a large pot. Stir everything until well blended.
2. Cover the pot, then place it on the stove.
3. Turn the heat low, then simmer the tortilla soup for about 10 to 20 minutes or until done. Stir until well blended.
4. Serve right away with the toppings. Enjoy!
Make sure to add additional salt if you are using a low-sodium chicken broth.
Feel free to add more cayenne pepper if you want this dish to be spicier.
You can use fresh garlic as well.
Add more seasonings if needed. Make sure to taste first before adding anything.
Place any leftovers in an airtight container, then place them inside the fridge.
