A make-from-scratch chicken dish smothered in honey-mustard. These well-seasoned chicken breasts are super delicious. Top them with honey mustard sauce, bacon, cheese, and mushrooms if you wish.
This bad boy is an amazing copycat of our beloved Outback Steakhouse. Make this right at home and serve with your favourites such as broccoli and cheese or bread rolls. This impressive Alice Springs Chicken is surely a must-try, super impressive, and to keep!
Ingredients
Alice Spring’s Chicken:
4 chicken breasts (horizontally sliced in half)
6 slices of cooked bacon
2 c. Monterey Jack cheese
Honey Mustard Sauce:
1/3 c. mayo
1 tablespoon honey
2 teaspoons stone-ground mustard
How to make Alice Springs Chicken
Step 1: With salt, pepper, and paprika, season the entire chicken. In a few tbsp oils, brown both sides of the chicken, then transfer to a 9 x 13-inch baking dish.
Step 2: Spread the honey/mustard sauce on each side of the chicken breast.
Step 3: Top the chicken with cheese and bacon.
Step 4: Place inside a 350 degrees F oven and bake the chicken for about 25 to 30 minutes.
Step 5: When done, remove from the oven and serve with extra honey mustard sauce. Enjoy!
Notes:
1. For this recipe, you can saute a cup of white button mushrooms in a tbsp oil if preferred. Alternatively, you can use a small can of drained mushrooms instead.
2. To make a super tender chicken, marinate to 1 1/2 tsp of baking soda, 2 tbsp vinegar, and 1 tsp salt for about 20 minutes, adding enough water to cover the chicken breasts.
