This recipe has always been a part of my family since I was a little kid. I remember my grandma used to cook this American Goulash for us all the time! I am so grateful to her for a lot of things including this perfect meal! Now, let me share it with you. I have listed all the ingredients and directions so all you need to do is to follow them step by step and you are good to go! Have a perfect day, friends. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
4 cloves garlic minced
1 large onion diced
3 tbsp soy sauce
3 c water
2 lbs. ground beef
2 tsp paprika
1 tbsp beef base or bouillon
2 15 oz. cans of diced tomatoes (one petite diced)
2 c elbow macaroni noodles uncooked
2 15 oz. cans of tomato sauce
2 tbsp Italian Seasoning
1 c cheddar cheese shredded
Fresh Italian parsley chopped
1 tbsp Seasoned salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
3 bay leaves
Directions:
1. Put a large pot on the stove and turn the heat to medium.
2. Add the ground beef, then cook until crumbly and brown. Discard the accumulated grease and leave about 2 tbsp of it in the pot.
3. Add the garlic and sauté until aromatic.
4. Add the onions and sauté until soft.
5. Add the canned tomatoes, bay leaves, tomato sauce, water, beef base, soy sauce, Italian seasoning, paprika, paprika, seasoned salt, and black pepper. Stir until well combined, then let the mixture boil.
6. Turn the heat down to low and simmer the mixture for 20 minutes.
7. Add the noodles and cover the pot. Cook the noodles for about 15 minutes or until firm to bite or al dente. Make sure to stir from time to time to prevent from sticking.
8. Add the cheese, then stir until melted completely.
9. Sprinkle freshly chopped parsley on top to garnish.
10. Serve and enjoy!
