Oh, my! I am so glad that I gave this recipe a try because I never would have tasted perfection! This Beef Stroganoff is just too perfect! Ingredients:
1 c onion, minced
1 ½ lb. sirloin beef, very thin (see note)
4 tbsp butter
3 tbsp sour cream
1 c white mushrooms, sliced
1 tbsp heavy whipping cream (or all-purpose cream)
4 cloves garlic minced
2 tbsp flour
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 ½ c beef broth and chicken broth (may also use broth cube)
½ tsp soy sauce
salt and pepper to taste
2 tsp ground rosemary (dried sage, basil, or thymes alternatively)
Directions:
1. Place a large pan on the stove and turn the heat to medium.
2. Add 1 tbsp of butter and allow it to melt.
3. Add the beef and cook each side for a few minutes until they turn brown. Discard any accumulated grease. Remove the beef from the pan.
4. Add the rest of the butter and allow it to melt.
5. Add the mushrooms and onions, then sauté until a bit gold.
6. Add the garlic and sauté until aromatic.
7. Add flour, then whisk and cook for a minute.
8. Put the beef back into the pan, then pour in the chicken broth. Stir until well mixed.
9. Add the soy sauce and Worcestershire sauce, then stir until well blended.
10. Sprinkle the dried rosemary on top.
11. Reduce the heat to low, then simmer everything for 10 minutes or until the beef is tender.
12. Remove the pan from the heat, then add the sour cream and cream. Stir until well blended.
13. Serve hot over rice or noodles. Enjoy!
Notes:
Feel free to use your preferred beef for this recipe. Make sure to slice them thin.
