This will be the best pasta dish you will ever try! Oh, man, you are so in for a treat. Enjoy!
1 tbsp kosher salt
8 oz penne pasta
1-lb raw shrimp (deveined, cleaned, tail removed)
2 tbsp Cajun seasoning (*see note below)
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp butter
1 c heavy cream
½ c parmesan cheese
Step 1: Place a pot with salted water on the stove and turn the heat to high, then allow it to boil.
Step 2: Add the pasta and cook until firm to bite or al dente.
Step 3: Reserve 1/2 cup of water. Drain the pasta and rinse with cold water to stop the cooking process.
Step 4: In a mixing bowl, add the shrimp, olive oil, and Cajun seasoning. Toss until well mixed.
Step 5: Place a large skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium-high.
Step 6: Add butter and allow it to melt.
Step 7: Add the shrimp and cook each side until golden brown.
Step 8: Place the cooked shrimp onto a clean plate.
Step 9: In the same skillet, reduce the heat, and add the cream. Stir and scrape to get the brown bits on the bottom.
Step 10: Turn the heat down to low, then add the Parmesan cheese. Stir and allow it to melt.
Step 11: Add the cooked pasta and cooked shrimp. Toss until well coated with the sauce.
Step 12: Add the pasta water if the texture of the sauce is too thick.
Step 13: Serve hot and enjoy!
