Ingredients:
4 bell peppers, halved
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 large onion, sliced
16 ounces cremini mushrooms, sliced
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
1 1/2 pound sirloin steak, thinly sliced
2 teaspoons of Italian seasoning
16 slices provolone
Freshly chopped parsley for garnish
Directions:
1. Prepare the oven and preheat to 160 degrees C or 320 degrees F.
2. Arrange the peppers onto a large baking dish.
3. Place it inside the preheated oven and bake for about 30 minutes or until done.
4. Place a large skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium-high.
5. Add oil and allow it to become hot.
6. Add the mushrooms, onions, salt, and pepper, then sauté until translucent.
7. Add the steak and cook each side for 3 minutes.
8. Add the Italian seasoning and stir until well mixed.
9. Add the provolone under the baked peppers.
10. Add the steak mixture over the baked peppers.
11. Add more provolone on top.
12. Place it inside the preheated oven and broil for about 3 minutes or until golden brown.
13. Remove from the oven and sprinkle parsley on top.
14. Serve and enjoy!
