Ingredients:
oil spray or brush
1.5 c shredded mozzarella cheese
2 oz. cream cheese
1 tsp garlic powder
1 large Egg
3/4 c almond flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp table salt
2 tsp dried oregano
Toppings:
1 tbsp butter
1 tbsp finely grated Parmesan cheese
3 cloves garlic, minced
Directions:
1. Prepare the oven and preheat to 190 degrees C or 375 degrees F.
2. Line with parchment paper a baking sheet.
For the Dough:
1. Add baking powder, garlic powder, almond flour, and oregano into a heat-proof mixing bowl. Whisk until well blended.
2. Add cream cheese and mozzarella cheese. Stir until just mixed.
3. Place it inside the microwave and heat for about 45 seconds.
4. Remove from the microwave, then stir until the texture of the dough becomes smooth.
5. Add the egg, then mix until well blended.
6. Slice the dough into 8 even cuts.
7. Roll each to about a 9-inch-long knot.
8. Lay the knots onto the prepared baking sheet and arrange them in a single layer. Make sure to leave a small space between each knot.
9. Brush each knot with oil.
10. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake the knots for about 15 minutes or until done.
11. Remove from the oven, then brush each with the garlic butter.
12. Sprinkle a generous amount of Parmesan cheese on top.
13. Bake the garlic knots for 1 more minute or until the cheese has melted completely.
14. Remove from the oven and allow them to rest for a few minutes at room temperature.
15. Serve warm and enjoy!
