Cheesy, juicy chicken, and delicious marinara sauce! This Cheesy Mozzarella Chicken Bake never fails to satisfy all my cravings! I am so excited to share this recipe with you today! All you need are these simple ingredients and easy steps, and you are good to go! In less than an hour, dinner will be served. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
1.5 c marinara sauce
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1 c shredded mozzarella
2 tbsp olive oil
1/2 c freshly grated Parmesan cheese
4 large chicken breasts, boneless skinless
Salt & pepper to taste
Directions:
1. Prepare the oven and preheat to 190 degrees C or 375 degrees F.
2. Place the rack in the center of the oven.
3. Apply cooking spray to a 9×13-inch baking dish.
4. Sprinkle salt, pepper, and garlic powder over the chicken. Toss until well coated.
5. Place a skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium-high.
6. Add oil and allow it to become hot.
7. Add the chicken into the hot skillet, then sear each side for about 5 minutes or until golden brown.
8. Transfer the chicken to the prepared baking dish and arrange them in a single layer.
9. Add the marinara sauce on top of the chicken and spread it evenly.
10. Top the chicken with Parmesan and mozzarella cheese.
11. Place the baking dish inside the preheated oven and bake the chicken for about 20 minutes. Broil for 3 minutes or until the cheese turns golden brown.
12. Remove from the oven and allow the chicken to rest at room temperature for about 5 minutes.
13. Serve and enjoy!
Notes:
You can use a large oven-proof skillet for this recipe instead of a baking dish.
Place any leftovers in an airtight container, then put them inside the fridge.
