Ingredients:
1 pound (0.4 kg) chicken thighs, deboned, skin-on
salt
white sesame seeds for garnishing, optional
TERIYAKI SAUCE:
1/3 c Japanese mirin (sweet rice wine)
2 tbsp soy sauce, low sodium preferred
1 tbsp sugar
Directions:
1. Season all sides of the chicken thighs with salt.
2. Place a saucepan on the stove, then add all the ingredients for the Teriyaki sauce. Stir until well blended.
3. Turn the heat to low. Simmer for about 10 minutes or until the texture becomes thick. Remove from the heat.
4. Place a non-stick skillet on the stove and turn the heat to high.
5. Add the chicken thighs and cook each side until they turn brown.
6. Remove from the heat, then transfer the chicken thighs onto a serving plate.
7. Pour the Teriyaki sauce over the chicken thighs, then sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
8. Serve over rice and enjoy!
