Classic Stuffed Shells with Italian Sausage

Prep Time: 15 mins | Cook Time: 45 mins | Total Time: 1 hr | Yield: 12 Servings

The combination of Italian sausage, cheeses, and a lot more ingredients made this dish insanely good! These Classic Stuffed Shells with Italian Sausage are total crowd-pleasers!

Ingredients:

¾ c Shredded Parmesan
1 tsp Dried Oregano
4 tsp Garlic Powder
4 c Fresh Spinach rough chopped and stems removed if you prefer
1 package Jumbo Pasta Shells 16 ounces
12 ounces of Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
32 ounces Ricotta about 4 c
parsley for garnish dried or fresh
45 ounces Spaghetti sauce large jar
1-pound Italian sausage, ground or casings removed
2 eggs
½ tsp pepper

Directions:

1. Prepare the oven and preheat to 175 degrees C or 350 degrees F.

2. Put a skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium.

3. Add the sausage into the hot skillet, then cook for a few minutes until crumbly and brown. Remove from the heat, then discard any accumulated grease.

4. Put a large pot with water on the stove and turn the heat to high. Allow the water to boil.

5. Add the pasta shells, then cook for a few minutes just until al dente. Drain and set aside.

6. Add spinach, oregano, 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, ricotta, 8 ounces Mozzarella cheese, pepper, and eggs into a large bowl. Whisk until well incorporated.

7. Add 1/2 jar of the spaghetti sauce into a 9×13-inch baking pan and spread it evenly to the bottom.

8. Fill each pasta shell with the cheese mixture.

9. Lay the stuffed shells into the prepared pan open-side up and arrange them in a single layer.

10. Add the remaining sauce over the stuffed shells and spread it evenly.

11. Scatter the cooked sausage over the stuffed shells.

12. Sprinkle the rest of the Parmesan and mozzarella cheese over. Cover with foil.

13. Put the baking pan inside the preheated oven and bake the stuffed shells for about 25 to 40 minutes or until the cheese is melted completely and turns golden brown.

14. Remove the stuffed shells from the oven.

15. Serve and enjoy!

Notes:

Leftovers can last up to 5 days in the fridge. Just make sure to place them in an airtight container.

Reheat for a few minutes in the microwave.
