Ingredients:
8 oz medium pasta shells
1 tbsp olive oil
1 lb ground beef
1 small sweet onion (diced)
5 cloves garlic (minced)
1 tsp Italian seasoning
1 tsp dried parsley
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp smoked paprika
2 tbsp all-purpose flour
1 c beef stock
1 (15ounces can) marinara sauce
3/4 c heavy cream
1/4 c sour cream
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper (to taste)
1 1/2 c cheddar cheese (freshly grated)
Directions:
Step 1: Refer to the directions provided on the package of the pasta on how to cook it. Drain and rinse with cold water to stop the cooking process.
Step 2: Place a large skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium-high.
Step 3: Add olive oil and allow it to become hot.
Step 4: Add the ground beef and cook for 5 minutes or until crumbly and brown. Remove the beef from the skillet and discard any excess grease.
Step 5: Add the sliced onion into the same skillet. Sauté for about 2 minutes or until translucent.
Step 6: Add the garlic and sauté for a minute or until aromatic.
Step 7: Add the flour and whisk for a minute or until brown.
Step 8: Add the beef stock and stir until well mixed.
Step 9: Add the Italian seasoning, oregano, marinara sauce, paprika, and dried parsley. Stir until well mixed.
Step 10: Allow the mixture to boil, then reduce the heat to low. Simmer the mixture for 6 minutes or until the texture becomes thick.
Step 11: Put the beef back to the skillet and stir until well combined.
Step 12: Add the cooked pasta and toss until well coated with the sauce.
Step 13: Add the heavy cream and cook for about 2 minutes. Add salt and pepper if needed.
Step 14: Add the sour cream and stir until well mixed.
Step 15: Add the cheddar cheese and stir until melted completely.
Step 16: Sprinkle parsley on top.
Step 17: Serve hot and enjoy!
