Ingredients:
2 tbsp all-purpose flour
2 c beef stock
8 oz. of medium pasta shells
2 cloves garlic, minced
6 oz. shredded extra-sharp cheddar cheese, about 1 1/2 c
1 (15 oz) can of tomato sauce
1 lb. of ground beef
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
1/2 medium sweet onion, diced
1 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
3/4 c heavy cream
1 tbsp olive oil
Directions:
Place a large pot with water on the stove and turn the heat to high. Allow the water to boil.
Add the pasta, then cook until al dente. Drain and rinse with cold water to stop the cooking process.
Place a large skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium-high.
Add oil and allow it to become hot.
Add the ground beef, then cook until crumbly and brown. Discard any excess grease.
Add the onion, then sauté until soft.
Add the garlic, then sauté until aromatic. Season with Italian seasoning to taste.
Add the flour, then whisk and cook for a minute to remove the raw taste.
Add the tomato sauce and beef stock, then stir until well blended. Allow the mixture to boil.
Turn the heat down to low, then simmer for about 6 to 8 minutes or until the texture of the sauce becomes thick.
Add the heavy cream, beef, and pasta. Toss everything until well combined. Simmer for about 2 minutes.
Sprinkle salt and pepper to season.
Add the cheese and stir until well blended.
Serve right away and enjoy!
