Easy Homemade Dinner Rolls

by Sheryl November 26, 2020

Prep Time: 1 hr 20 mins | Cook Time: 25 mins | Yield: 12 Rolls

These rolls are so good! I always prepare and serve them pretty much all the time! Add this to your top list of best recipes. Enjoy!

Ingredients:

1 (1/4-ounces) packet active dry yeast
1/4 c warm water (110°F)
2 Tbsp sugar
2 c all-purpose flour, plus more as needed
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 c whole milk
2 Tbsp unsalted butter, melted, plus more for brushing
Large-flake sea salt (optional)

Directions:

Step 1: Add in the yeast, water, and sugar in the bowl of a stand mixer. Allow it to rise for about 5 minutes.

Step 2: Add in 1 cup of flour, whole milk, melted butter, and salt. Beat for about 2 minutes or until well combined.

Step 3: Add in another cup of flour and beat for about 2 minutes on high speed until the dough turns into a ball. Add more flour if the dough is too sticky.

Step 4: Sprinkle flour on a flat surface and put the dough on it.

Step 5: Knead for about 2 minutes and place it on a greased mixing bowl. Cover the bowl with a towel and let it sit in a warm, dark room for about 30 minutes until risen.

Step 6: Apply cooking spray or butter in an 8-inch round pan.

Step 7: Cut the dough into 12 even pieces and roll them into balls, then place them into the prepared round pan.

Step 8: Cover the pan with a towel and let it sit in a warm, dark place for about 30 minutes.

Step 9: Prepare the oven and preheat to 190 degrees C or 375 degrees F.

Step 10: Remove the towel cover and place the pan inside the preheated oven, then bake for about 20 to 25 minutes or until the top turns golden brown.

Step 11: Remove from the oven, then brush the top of each roll with melted butter and sprinkle sea salt.

Step 12: Serve and enjoy!

Notes:

You can prepare these rolls a day before. Just make sure to freeze the unbaked rolls and put them at room temperature before baking them.
