This lasagna recipe is so easy that even your kids can cook it. With your supervision of course. Anyway, feel free to add more ingredients if you prefer. In just about 1 hour, you will have the best lasagna ever. Just make sure to add more cheese for the best result. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
1 medium yellow onion
1 tbsp olive oil
1-lb lean ground beef
1/2 tsp kosher salt
1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper
1 (24 to 25-oz) jar marinara sauce (3 c), such as Rao’s or Newman’s Own
12 oz low-moisture mozzarella cheese, shredded (about 3 c), divided
15 dry lasagna noodles (not no-boil, about 2/3 of a 1-pound box), divided
15 to 16 oz whole-milk ricotta cheese (about 2 c), divided
Directions:
1. Prepare the oven. Place the rack in the centre and preheat to 200 degrees C or 400 degrees F.
2. Place a skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium.
3. Add oil and allow it to become hot.
4. Add the sliced onion, ground beef, salt, and pepper. Stir and cook for about 8 minutes or until crumbly, brown, and aromatic. Remove the skillet from the heat and allow the mixture to cool.
5. Add about 3 cups of marinara sauce in a 9×13-inch and spread it evenly on the bottom.
6. Add the rest of the marina sauce into the meat mixture and stir until well combined.
7. Add 5 lasagna noodles over the marinara sauce in the baking dish.
8. Spread a generous amount of cheese on top.
9. Sprinkle more mozzarella cheese on top.
10. Repeat the process until all the ingredients are arranged in layers ending with the marinara sauce. Set aside the rest of the cheese for later use.
11. Cover the baking dish with foil.
12. Place it inside the preheated oven and bake for about an hour.
13. Remove from the oven and sprinkle the reserved cheese on top.
14. Put it back in the oven and bake for another 10 minutes or until the cheese turns brown.
15. Remove from the oven and allow the lasagna to cool completely at room temperature.
16. Serve and enjoy!
