This Sausage and Cabbage is just simply amazing! Serve it as is or over rice and you have yourself a meal to remember! Feel free to tweak the recipe a bit. By the way, I highly recommend you add red pepper flakes. Just do it and thank me later. Enjoy!
2 1/2 tablespoon olive or avocado oil
4 full cooked sausages, sliced into circles 1/4 inch thick
1 tablespoon garlic, minced
1 small head of cabbage, shredded
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon of crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
Step 1: Place a large skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium-high.
Step 2: Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and allow it to become hot.
Step 3: Add the sliced sausage and cook for about 1 to 2 minutes or until brown. Make sure to turn the sausage from time to time.
Step 4: Remove the sausages from the pan and place them on a clean plate.
Step 5: In the same skillet, add the rest of the oil and allow it to become hot.
Step 6: Add the garlic and sauté for about a minute or until aromatic.
Step 7: Add the shredded cabbage, crushed red pepper, salt, and pepper. Stir until well mixed, then cook for about 10 minutes or until the cabbage is translucent.
Step 8: Put the sausage back into the skillet and cook for 5 more minutes.
Step 9: Add more seasonings if needed.
Step 10: Remove the skillet from the heat.
Step 11: Serve and enjoy!
