A big thanks to my dear friend, Abigail, for giving me this incredible recipe for stew! Oh, man, I love this so much! Aside from the rich beef flavour, it also has rice, veggies, and a lot of seasonings. A bowl of this stew will surely put a smile to your face! Give it a try and make sure to invite friends and family over so you can enjoy this Hamburger Stew with them! The best meal to eat with the best people in the world. Enjoy! 2 lbs ground beef
2 medium onions, chopped
4 cans (14-1/2 oz each) stewed tomatoes, undrained
8 medium carrots, thinly sliced
4 celery ribs, thinly sliced
2 medium potatoes, peeled and cubed
2 c water
1/2 c uncooked long grain rice
3 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
Step 1: Place a Dutch oven on the stove and turn the heat to medium.
Step 2: Add in the beef and cook until brown and crumbly.
Step 3: Add in the onions and cook until translucent.
Step 4: Discard the excess grease.
Step 5: Add in the carrots, tomatoes, water, celery, potatoes, rice, salt, and pepper. Allow the mixture to boil.
Step 6: Cover and reduce the heat to low. Simmer for 30 minutes or until the rice and veggies are done.
Step 7: Remove the cover and allow it to simmer for another 20 to 30 minutes or until thick to your preference.
Step 8: Serve and enjoy!
1. You can freeze the stew. Just make sure to thaw it in the fridge overnight.
2. When preparing, heat it in a saucepan and stir until done. Add more water if needed.
