Fun, inviting, with colours of a rainbow. A treat that is so simple to make and takes less than 20 minutes to make. This sprinkled confetti cake batter Krispies treat is excellent for kids party, for the upcoming Halloween, or holiday.
½ cup butter
1 (16 ounces) package miniature marshmallows
2 tablespoons bourbon
1 teaspoon salt
1 cupcake mix with candy bits (such as Pillsbury® Funfetti®)
5 cups crispy rice cereal (such as Rice Krispies®), divided
2 cups fruit-flavoured breakfast cereal (such as Post® Fruity Pebbles®), divided
1 pinch sea salt
Step 1: Line a 9×13-inch cake pan with parchment paper.
Step 2: Place a large pot on the stove and turn the heat to medium.
Step 3: Add the butter and allow it to melt for about 4 minutes or until caramelized.
Step 4: Add the marshmallows and cook for another 3 minutes or until it melts completely.
Step 5: Pour in bourbon and season with 1 teaspoon of salt. Stir until well blended.
Step 6: Remove from the heat and add in the cake mix. Stir until well combined with the rest of the ingredients.
Step 7: Let the mixture sit at room temperature until set.
Step 8: Add 1/2 of rice cereal and 1/2 flavoured fruit right away. Stir until well mixed.
Step 9: Add the rest of the cereal and stir until well combined.
Step 10: Transfer the mixture into the lined cake pan and press it lightly.
Step 11: Season with salt for additional taste.
Step 12: Serve and enjoy!
