A simple recipe to play with different flavours. Easy, quick, and delicious gooey butter cookies. I made this a week ago with coconut cake mix and added some coconut flakes, too, and everyone loved it! Feel free to experiment, don’t worry because these cookies will come out great always!
This out of a box of cake mix recipe is one of the easiest you can make. No-fuss cookies that your kids even the adults will enjoy. These are excellent no matter what and you can even pack these in cute boxes to give us gifts. Soft, buttery, gooey cookies that are so irresistible. I sometimes call these the festive cookies because of their simple sprinkles. A fun and a fool-proof cookie recipe that would be perfect for the holidays or any day!
1 box Duncan Hines butter recipe cake mix (can substitute yellow or French vanilla)
1 stick butter
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 package cream cheese, room temp (8 ounces)
powdered sugar (for rolling dough into)
Step 1: In a mixing bowl, add the cake mix, butter, vanilla extract, cream cheese, egg, and powdered sugar. Mix with an electric mixer until incorporated.
Step 2: Place in the fridge to chill for at least 2 hours.
Step 3: Form the dough into about a walnut-size balls.
Step 4: Roll the balls in powdered sugar to coat.
Step 5: Place the coated dough balls on an ungreased cookie sheet.
Step 6: Place inside the oven and bake for about 10 to 12 minutes at 350 degrees.
Step 7: Once done, remove from the oven and allow to cool.
Step 8: Dust the completely cooled cookies with powdered sugar.
