Grandmas Hungarian Stuffed Cabbage, Slow Cooker Variation

Prep Time: 25 mins | Cook Time: 7hrs 14 mins | Additional Time: 5 mins | Total Time: 7 hrs 44 mins | Yield: 8 Servings

These heavenly treats are super legit! Oh, man, you have got to give this recipe a try. Enjoy!

Ingredients:

1 head cabbage
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, crushed
¾ cup uncooked white rice, rinsed
1 lb ground beef
1 lb ground pork sausage
1 egg, beaten
1 (32 oz) can tomato juice

Directions:

Step 1: Place a large pot with water on the stove. Turn the heat to high and allow it to boil.

Step 2: Add the cabbage and cook for 3 minutes or until wilted. Remove the cabbage leaves from the pot and allow them to cool.

Step 3: Place a large skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium.

Step 4: Add oil and allow it to become hot.

Step 5: Add the garlic and onion. Sauté for 5 minutes or until aromatic and translucent.

Step 6: Add the rice. Stir and cook for about a minute, then remove the skillet from the heat.

Step 7: Add the sausage, beef, and egg. Stir until well mixed.

Step 8: Form small balls out of the mixture and fill each cabbage with it. Roll each cabbage leaf.

Step 9: Arrange the rolls into the slow cooker.

Step 10: Add the tomato juice and 1 cup of cabbage water.

Step 11: Cover the slow cooker and cook for 30 minutes on a high setting.

Step 12: Cook for another 6 hours on a low setting.

Step 13: Serve and enjoy!
