This marvelous Meringue Pie is one of the best recipes I have ever tried! It tastes extremely amazing. Once you bite your teeth on its soft and creamy filling, you would want to taste and feel it every time! Give this recipe a try and have yourself a great day. Enjoy!
1 cup white sugar
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
3 tablespoons cornstarch
¼ teaspoon salt
1 ½ cups water
2 fruit, without seeds lemons, juiced and zested
2 tablespoons butter
4 large egg yolks, beaten
1 (9 inches) pie crust, baked
4 large egg whites egg whites
6 tablespoons white sugar
Step 1: Prepare the oven and preheat to 175 degrees C or 350 degrees F.
To Make The Lemon Filling:
Step 1: Place a medium saucepan on the stove. Add in the flour, 1 cup sugar, cornstarch, and salt. Whisk until well mixed.
Step 2: Add in the lemon juice, water, and lemon zest. Stir until well blended.
Step 3: Cover with lid and turn the heat to medium-high and bring to a boil.
Step 4: Add in the butter and allow it to melt.
Step 5: In a small mixing bowl, add in the egg yolks and i1/2 cup of the hot sugar mixture. Whisk until well mixed.
Step 6: Transfer the beaten egg yolks into the saucepan. Bring to a boil and whisk until the sauce becomes thick.
Step 7: Remove the pan from the heat and transfer it into the baked pastry shell.
To Make The Meringue:
Step 1: In a large mixing bowl, add in the egg whites and whisk until it becomes foamy.
Step 2: Add in the sugar moderately and whisk until stiff peaks form.
Step 3: Spoon the meringue on top of the pie and spread it all over the pie.
Step 4: Place inside the preheated oven and bake for 10 minutes or until the meringue turns golden brown.
Step 5: Remove from the oven and let it sit on a wire rack to cool.
Step 6: Serve and enjoy!
