by Sheryl February 27, 2021

Prep Time: 20 mins | Cook Time: 1 hr 15 mins | Total Time: 1 hr 35 mins | Yield: 8 Servings

This meatloaf recipe has always been a part of my family since I was a little kid. Give it a try and prepare to be amazed. Enjoy!

Ingredients:

Meatloaf:

1 medium-sized onion (diced)
2 cloves garlic (minced)
1 tbsp butter
2 lbs ground beef
1 large Egg
1 c panko bread crumbs
1 c milk
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp thyme
1 tsp kosher salt

Topping (see note):

½ c ketchup
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp spicy brown mustard

Directions:

Step 1: Prepare the oven and preheat to 175 degrees C or 350 degrees F.

Step 2: Line with parchment paper a baking sheet.

Step 3: Place a pan on the stove and turn the heat to medium.

Step 4: Add butter and allow it to melt.

Step 5: Add the onions and sauté until translucent.

Step 6: Turn the heat down to low and add the garlic. Sauté for 2 minutes or until aromatic.

Step 7: Remove the pan from the heat.

Step 8: Add the egg, ground beef, milk, breadcrumbs, thyme, Worcestershire sauce, cooked garlic, cooked onions, and salt into a large mixing bowl. Mix with your hands and form it into a loaf.

Step 9: Transfer it into the prepared baking sheet and run a knife on top to make a crisscross pattern.

Step 10: Place it inside the preheated oven and bake for 40 minutes or until done.

Step 11: In a small mixing bowl, add the ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard. Stir until well blended.

Step 12: Spread the mixture on top of the meatloaf.

Step 13: Bake for another 30 minutes.

Step 14: Serve and enjoy!
