I love how a simple egg recipe could make my day! This Homemade Egg Foo Young is what you just might need today. The best thing about this dish is that you can serve it pretty much any time of the day. I have listed all the ingredients and directions so all you have to do is to follow them step by step and you are good to go! Surprise everyone with the perfect dish today. Ingredients:
Vegetable oil
1/2 lb. cooked shrimp, chopped
4 Eggs, beaten
1 c bean sprouts
green onion, chopped (for garnish)
2 tbsp soy sauce
1/2 c onion, chopped
1/2 c mushrooms, chopped
1 tsp cornstarch
For beef gravy, I used jarred
Directions:
1. Place a large skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium.
2. Add vegetable oil and allow it to become hot.
3. Add the mushrooms, bean sprouts, and onions. Saute until soft.
4. Add the shrimp and cook until pink.
5. Add the soy sauce and cornstarch, then stir until well mixed.
6. Transfer everything into a mixing bowl.
7. Add beaten eggs and stir until just mixed.
8. In the same skillet, add vegetable oil and allow it to become hot. Make sure to swirl the skillet to coat the bottom.
9. Add about 1/4 of the Egg Foo Young mixture, then swirl it to make a pancake. Cook for about a minute, then flip to cook the other side.
10. Remove from the skillet and transfer onto a clean plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil. Repeat the process with the rest of the mixture.
11. Pour gravy on top and sprinkle green onions.
12. Serve with soy sauce as a dipping sauce. Enjoy!
