Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 350 degrees F. Using cooking oil, lightly grease a baking sheet.
Step 2: Combine the ground turkey, onion, garlic, parsley, breadcrumbs, egg, oregano, salt, and pepper in a large bowl. Into 8 portions, divide the mixture and shape each into balls. Place the balls on the greased baking sheet.
Step 3: Place in the preheated oven and bake for about 15 to 20 minutes or until firm and cooked through.
Sauce:
Step 4: In a large nonstick skillet, heat the olive oil on medium heat. Once hot, add the onion and saute for about 5 minutes until tender.
Step 5: Next, add the garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper. Stir and cook for another minute.
Step 6: Then, add the crushed tomatoes and bring everything to a boil. Allow the sauce to simmer for additional 10 minutes before stirring in the parsley and basil.
Step 7: Add the meatballs and spoon the sauce over, coating each meatball.
Step 8: Serve the meatballs immediately over rice or pasta. These Italian meatballs are also amazing by themselves. Enjoy!
