All you need for this recipe are five basic ingredients! Yes, you read it right! This Keto Southern Fried Cabbage can be served as is or with rice. Just follow these easy steps for they will guide you to perfection. A quick and easy dish that you can serve for tonight’s dinner. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
4 cloves Garlic (minced)
1/4 teaspoon Black pepper (to taste)
1/2 teaspoon Paprika
1 1/2 teaspoons Sea salt (to taste)
1 large sweet onion (sliced into thin half-moons)
8 slices Bacon
1 large head of Cabbage (shredded; ~20 c shredded)
Directions:
1. Lay the bacon slices onto a large pan. Arrange them in a single layer.
2. Place the pan on the stove and turn the heat to medium. Cook the bacon for 10 minutes or until crispy and brown. Transfer the crispy bacon onto a clean plate.
3. In the same pan with the bacon grease, add onion stir fry for about 10 minutes or until caramelized.
4. Create a small well in the middle of the onions.
5. Add the minced garlic in it and sauté for one minute or until aromatic. Stir until well mixed.
6. Add the cabbage, then stir until well mixed. Sprinkle paprika, salt, and pepper to taste.
7. Cover the pan, then cook the cabbage for 15 to 25 minutes or until soft.
8. Roughly chop the bacon, then scatter them over the cabbage. Stir until well combined.
9. Serve and enjoy!
Notes:
Place any leftovers in an airtight container, then place them inside the fridge. They can last up to 4 to 5 days. Reheat in the microwave for a few minutes.
