This One Pot Spicy Sausage Pasta Skillet is quick to put together. It is a no-fuss dinner option that your entire family will love! This dish is made with just a few simple ingredients. This recipe is also very versatile. You can change up the flavors to your preference. If you want to make it spicy, you certainly can! The combination of the jalapeno slices and andouille sausage is my favorite! It tackles the mouth and is super addictive!
Ingredients
14 oz. andouille sausage, cut into thin rings
2 tsp olive oil
1/2 c. finely diced red onion
2 jalapeños, sliced into 1/2 rings
4 oz. cream cheese
8 oz. uncooked penne
salt and pepper to taste
16 oz. can tomato sauce
1 c. chicken broth
How to make One Pot Spicy Sausage Pasta Skillet
Step 1: Into a skillet, add the olive oil, sausage, and red onion. Cook for about 5 to 6 minutes over medium-high heat until the sausage starts to brown, stirring often.
Step 2: Add the tomato sauce to the skillet. Pour in the chicken broth and add the jalapenos. Bring everything to a boil. Add the penne.
Step 3: Then, decrease the heat and let everything simmer for about 10 minutes or until the penne is tender.
Step 4: Next, add the cream cheese. Stir well and season with salt and pepper.
Step 5: Remove from the heat when done and serve the One Pot Spicy Sausage Pasta Skillet hot. Enjoy!
Notes:
Feel free to add more broth or water if you prefer less firm pasta. In half-cup increments, add the liquid until the pasta reached your preferred firmness.
