Orange Pound Cake

The rich orange flavour of this cake is so satisfying! Take a break from the usual cakes and give this Orange Pound Cake a try. Enjoy!

Ingredients:

For the Cake:

1 and 1/4 c (282 g) unsalted butter, softened
3 c (600 g) granulated sugar
5 large Eggs
2 tbsp orange zest
2 tbsp fresh orange juice
3 c (390 g) all-purpose flour
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 c (240 ml) milk

For the Glaze:

1 c (120 g) confectioners’ sugar
1-2 tbsp fresh orange juice

Directions:

To Make the Cake:

Step 1: Prepare the oven and preheat to 175 degrees C or 350 degrees F.

Step 2: Apply cooking spray and sprinkle flour in a 10-inch bundt pan.

Step 3: Beat the butter and sugar for about 3 minutes on medium-high speed until fluffy.

Step 4: Add in eggs gradually and beat every addition.

Step 5: Add in juice and orange zest. Beat for another 2 minutes. Make sure to scrape the bottom of the bowl.

Step 6: In a separate bowl, add the baking powder, flour, and salt. Whisk until well combined.

Step 7: Transfer the flour mixture into the butter mixture and beat on low speed until well combined.

Step 8: Add in the milk and beat until just mixed.

Step 9: Transfer the batter into the prepared bundt pan and spread it evenly on the bottom.

Step 10: Place it inside the preheated oven and bake for about 60 to 70 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean after inserting it in the middle.

Step 11: Remove from the oven and let it sit on a wire rack to cool for at least 15 minutes.

Step 12: Invert the cake and allow it to cool at room temperature completely.

To Make the Glaze:

Step 1: In a small mixing bowl, add the confectioners’ sugar and just enough orange juice. Stir until well combined.

Step 2: Drizzle the glaze over the cooled cake.

Step 3: Serve and enjoy!
