Ingredients:
1 lb. lean ground beef
8 oz. brown mushrooms minced
1 small green bell pepper diced
1 tbsp cornstarch
1 c beef broth
2 tbsp butter
1 small yellow onion diced
2 tbsp ketchup
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
8 oz. Provolone Cheese Slices chopped (use 6oz if you don’t want it very cheesy)
6 brioche hamburger buns
1/2 tsp Kosher salt
1/2 tsp fresh ground black pepper
Directions:
1. Place a large cast-iron skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium.
2. Add the ground beef, then cook until crumbly and brown. Remove from the skillet onto a clean plate.
3. In the same skillet with the grease, add butter and allow it to melt.
4. Add the onions, mushrooms, and bell pepper. Saute until soft and caramelized.
5. Put the ground meat back to the skillet and stir until well mixed.
6. Combined cornstarch and beef broth into a small cup.
7. Add the Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, salt, and pepper into the cup. Stir until well blended.
8. Pour the mixture into the pan and stir until well mixed. Simmer for a few minutes.
9. Remove the pan from the heat, then add the provolone cheese. Stir until well mixed.
10. Serve hot on toasted buns. Enjoy!
