Bring 2 cups of salted water to a boil in a medium saucepan. Once boiling, add 1.5 cups of uncooked pasta and 1 tsp salt. Put the lid on and cook for about 10 minutes.
In the meantime, slice the chicken breasts, then the onion and bell peppers.
In a heavy-duty pan or pot, heat 1 tbsp oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the onion and bell pepper. Cook for about 1 to 2 minutes until tender. Then, add the garlic and continue to cook for 30 seconds until lightly golden. Next, add the chicken and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Cook further until the chicken is browned and almost completely cooked.
Pour in the marinara sauce. Put the lid on and let everything simmer for about 5 minutes.
Drain the water from the pasta after 5 minutes and toss the pasta into the chicken mixture.
Mix well and add the cheese. Turn the heat off. Let the cheese melt. Broil if desired until bubbly.
Before serving, top the chicken pasta with Parmesan. Enjoy!
