This Salisbury Steak in Mushroom Onion Gravy is my ultimate comfort food! Serve this over mashed potatoes or rice, and you have yourself a meal to remember! Invite your friends over and let them experience this spectacular dish. Enjoy!
Directions:
For the Salisbury Steaks
1 Egg
1/3 c onions chopped
2 pounds ground beef
1 teaspoon parsley
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1/2 c bread crumbs
1/2 teaspoon crushed red peppers
1 teaspoon pepper
For the Mushroom Onion Gravy
3 tablespoons flour
3 cloves garlic, minced
8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
2 c onions, chopped
4 c beef broth
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Directions:
Salisbury Steaks:
1. Add the egg, onions, ground beef, Worcestershire sauce, parsley, crushed red pepper flakes, bread crumbs, pepper, and crushed red peppers into a mixing bowl. Stir until well mixed.
2. Form 6 even patties out of the mixture.
3. Place a cast-iron skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium-high.
4. Add one patty at a time and cook each side for about 5 minutes or until brown. Repeat the process with the rest of the patties.
5. Place the cooked patties onto a clean plate.
Mushroom Onion Gravy:
1. In the same skillet, add garlic and onions. Sauté over medium heat until aromatic and soft.
2. Add the mushrooms and sauté until soft.
3. Add flour, then stir and cook for about a minute.
4. Add the Worcestershire sauce, beef broth, salt, and pepper. Stir until well mixed.
5. Put the patties back into the skillet and spoon the delicious sauce on top. Cook for a few more minutes.
6. Cover the skillet and cook the patties for another 30 minutes. Make sure to stir from time to time.
7. Serve hot over rice or mashed potatoes with mixed veggies on the side. Enjoy!
