The creamy sauce of this Slow Cooker Chicken Marsala is simply the best! Enjoy a quality dish in the comfort of your home! This is a must-try because I am certain that everyone in the family is going to love it. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
3 cloves garlic, minced
8 oz. mushrooms, sliced
6 (1.5 lbs. total) boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp dried basil
1 c dry Marsala wine
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp sweet paprika
1/4 c heavy cream
1/4 c cornstarch
chopped fresh parsley, for garnish
1/2 c water
1 tsp dried thyme
salt and fresh ground pepper, to taste
Directions:
Apply cooking spray inside a 6-quart slow cooker.
Sprinkle salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, thyme, and dried basil over the chicken breasts. Toss until completely coated.
Place a skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium-high. Add olive oil and allow it to become hot.
Place the chicken breasts into the hot skillet, then cook each side for about 3 minutes or until they turn brown.
Remove the chicken breasts from the skillet and place them into the prepared slow cooker.
Place garlic and mushrooms over the chicken breasts.
In the same skillet over medium-high heat, add marsala wine and scrape the bottom to get the browned bits. Simmer for about a minute. Transfer into the slow cooker.
Cover and seal the slow cooker, then cook for about 4 to 5 hours on a low setting or 2 to 3 hours on a high setting.
Transfer the chicken breasts onto a clean plate.
In a mixing bowl, mix cornstarch and water. Pour it into the slow cooker. Stir everything until well blended. Simmer for a few minutes until the texture of the sauce becomes thick.
Put the chicken breasts back into the slow cooker together with heavy cream. Stir until well combined. Cook for 20 more minutes on a high setting.
Sprinkle freshly chopped parsley over each serving to garnish.
Serve and enjoy!
Notes:
Place any leftovers in an airtight container, then put them in the fridge. They can last up to 4 days. Reheat for a few minutes before serving again.
