There are so many reasons why I love this smooth sweet potato pie. It is creamy, rich, with dense sweet potato filling. And it is stuffed with so much flavour and baked in a flaky crust. A real treat for everybody and a true keeper!
While we all love pumpkin pie, this humble sweet potato pie is crawling behind its shadow. But this never falls behind when it comes to flavour and texture. And this sure holds a special place in our hearts!
1 deep dish pie crust
2 large sweet potatoes (cooked)
1/4 cup butter, softened
1 cup of sugar
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg or to taste
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons sour cream
1 cup of pet milk
How to make Smooth Sweet Potato Pie
Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 375 degrees.
Step 2: Add the cooked sweet potatoes in a medium bowl. Beat until smooth.
Step 3: Add in the butter, sugar, and eggs a piece at a time, beating every after each addition.
Step 4: Stir in the nutmeg, salt followed by milk, sour cream, vanilla extract, and flour until well mixed.
Step 5: Transfer the filling into the pie crust and place inside the preheated oven to bake for about 60 to 65 minutes or until a knife inserted in the middle of the pie comes out clean.
Step 6: Once done, remove the pie from the oven and fully cool.
Step 7: Serve and enjoy!
