Hello there, friends! I hope you are all well this fine day. This recipe I am sharing with you today has been a part of my life for decades now! Yes, you read it right. It’s kind of a family recipe. When I was little, I used to work with my grandma in the kitchen. She would always teach me new things, especially recipes. This Southern Fried Cabbage is just one of the many recipes that I know. I decided to share this with you today because it is so simple and easy. Nowadays, we want quick and easy recipes, right? Well, this one is not only easy but very delicious as well! With these basic ingredients, you can have the best lunch or dinner ever! I have listed all the things you will be needing so just follow them step by step and you are good to go! As perfect as this recipe already is, feel free to add more ingredients if you prefer. I am sure that you can do a lot to make this recipe even better! Ingredients:
salt and black pepper to taste
2 tablespoons butter optional
8 slices thick-cut bacon diced
1 large head of cabbage roughly chopped
1 yellow onion {I like Vidalia} diced
Directions:
1. Place a large pan on the stove and turn the heat to medium-high.
2. Add the bacon slices and cook until they become crispy. Leave the bacon grease in the pan.
3. Add the onions and sauté for about 5 minutes or until translucent and a bit caramelized.
4. Add the cabbage, then stir and cook for a few minutes until soft.
5. Add butter and allow it to melt.
6. Sprinkle salt and pepper to taste.
7. Serve and enjoy!
