I love the concept of this Spaghetti Pie! Oh, man, you are so in for a treat. Enjoy!
8 oz spaghetti noodles
1 c freshly grated parmesan cheese
1/4 c fresh basil leaves, chopped
3 Tablespoons butter
1 large Egg
salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
1 c cottage cheese *
1 1/2 c pasta sauce, homemade or a 12 oz. jar*
Step 1: Apply cooking spray on a 9-inch pie plate.
Step 2: Refer to the directions provided on the package of the spaghetti noodles on how to cook them. Drain and rinse with cold water to stop the cooking process. Transfer into a large mixing bowl.
Step 3: Add the egg into a small mixing bowl. Beat until creamy, then pour it over the cooked pasta.
Step 4: Add the butter and toss until well mixed and melted.
Step 5: Add the basil, Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper. Toss until well mixed.
Step 6: Transfer everything into the greased pan.
Step 7: Add the cottage cheese on top and spread it evenly.
Step 8: Spread the spaghetti sauce over the cottage cheese.
Step 9: Place the pan inside the oven and bake for about 20 minutes at 350 degrees F or 175 degrees C.
Step 10: Remove from the oven and allow it to cool at room temperature for 5 to 10 minutes.
Step 11: Serve and enjoy!
1. Place any leftovers inside the fridge. They can last up to 4 days.
2. Place it inside the microwave to reheat.
