I miss home so much! Today, I made these biscuits that my Grandma used to make. Just a little back story about this recipe. My Grandma was a very talented pastry chef. She made sure that her Grandkids get to eat the best treats as possible. These biscuits were a product of her imagination. I know that you probably had these growing up, but my Grandma made the best biscuits ever! I am just proud to say that. Anyway, the ingredients of this recipe are very affordable and very easy to find. I bet you already have them in your closet or fridge right now. This is a pretty basic recipe so feel free to add more ingredient to it if you feel like it. These biscuits are best served warm. Pair it with your favourite cup of coffee, and you have yourself the perfect snack! Give it a try and enjoy!
8 ounces can buttermilk biscuits
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 1/2 cup cooking oil
Step 1: Place a small skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium.
Step 2: Add in cooking oil and allow it to become hot.
Step 3: Place the cinnamon and sugar in a shallow dish.
Step 4: Split the biscuits and cut a 1-inch hole in the middle of each using a cookie cutter.
Step 5: Drop about 4 biscuits into the skillet with hot oil. Fry them on both sides until the colour turns golden brown.
Step 6: Remove from the oil and place them into the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
Step 7: Transfer the coated biscuits on a clean plate and let it sit at room temperature to cool.
Step 8: Serve and enjoy!
You can use plain white sugar to coat the biscuits.
