Easy, delicious, and simply the best! This Mongolian Beef is a perfect addition to your recipe list! Serve this over rice with some veggies on the side, and you have yourself a meal to remember. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
1/4 c water
1/2 c low sodium soy sauce
3 tbsp vegetable oil
3 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 c brown sugar
1 1/2 lbs. flank steak, sliced thin
1 tsp minced ginger
green onions, sliced for garnish
1/4 c cornstarch
A pinch of red pepper flakes
Directions:
Add the flank steak and cornstarch inside a large resealable bag. Seal the bag and shake it until the meat slices are fully covered with cornstarch.
Place a large skillet on the stove and turn the heat to high. Add vegetable oil and allow it to become hot.
Add the flank steak, then cook each side for a few minutes until brown. Transfer them onto a clean plate.
Add ginger, brown sugar, garlic, water, and soy sauce into a mixing bowl. Stir everything until well blended.
Add the sauce into the skillet, then scrape the bottom to get the browned bits. Let the mixture boil.
Put the steak back into the skillet with the sauce, then toss until completely coated. Remove from the heat.
Sprinkle freshly chopped green onions and red pepper flakes on top to garnish.
Serve right away. Enjoy!
Notes:
This dish is best served over rice with some stir-fried veggies on the side!
Feel free to add slurry (Cornstarch and water mixture) if you want a thick sauce.
Make sure not to overcook the beef.
Place any leftovers in an airtight container, then put them in the fridge. Reheat for a few minutes before serving again.
