Ingredients:
4 tbsp unsalted butter
1/4 c all-purpose flour
2 c whole milk (2% is good too)
1 lb dry mini penne pasta
8 ounces of Italian blend shredded cheese (*see below to make your blend)
1/3 c fresh grated Parmesan cheese
1 tbsp dried Italian seasoning (I prefer McCormick Tuscan Style
Directions:
Step 1: Place a large pot with salted water on the stove and turn the heat to high. Allow the water to boil.
Step 2: Add the pasta and cook for about 8 minutes or until al dente.
Step 3: Drain the pasta and rinse with cold water to stop the cooking process.
Step 4: Place a medium saucepan on the stove and turn the heat to medium.
Step 5: Add the butter and allow it to melt.
Step 6: Add the Italian seasoning and flour. Whisk and cook for about 2 minutes.
Step 7: Add milk and whisk until the texture become thick.
Step 8: Add the cheeses and whisk until well mixed.
Step 9: Pour the cheese sauce on top of the pasta and toss until well mixed.
Step 10: Serve and enjoy!
