Sweet and Sour Chicken, anyone? I’m telling you; this will be the best thing you will ever try today! You just have to try it and taste it yourself. Feel free to add more ingredients if you want. Ingredients:
1 pound chicken breast
1/3 c corn starch
1/3 c flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 large egg
vegetable oil
1 c sliced onions
1 c sliced bell peppers
1 c pineapple pieces
Sweet and Sour Sauce
1/4 c ketchup
1/4 c rice vinegar
1/2 c sugar
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2-3 cloves garlic
1/2 teaspoon sesame oil optional
Directions:
1. Slice the chicken into small cuts, then use paper towels to pat them dry.
2. Add cornflour, flour, and salt into a mixing bowl. Whisk until well mixed.
3. In another mixing bowl, add egg and whisk until creamy.
4. Add the chicken into the bowl with the egg, then toss until well coated.
5. Next, toss them into the flour mixture until well coated as well.
6. Place a large skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium.
7. Then add vegetable oil and allow it to become hot.
8. Add the coated chicken pieces into the hot oil and cook each side until golden brown.
9. Remove the chicken pieces from the heat to a clean plate.
10. In the same skillet, add more oil. Add the onions and bell peppers. Sauté until translucent.
11. Remove the onions and bell peppers from the skillet.
12. Add all the ingredients for the sauce and stir until well mixed. Allow the mixture to boil.
13. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for a few minutes until the texture of the sauce becomes a bit thick.
14. Put the onions, bell peppers, and chicken pieces back to the skillet as well as the pineapples. Toss everything until well combined.
15. Remove the skillet from the heat.
16. Serve over rice and enjoy!
