I have never had this for breakfast, and I am so happy that I finally got the chance to make it! Oh, man, I was so surprised with the result of this very simple recipe. I never thought it would taste this good! Try this recipe now, and I promise you that breakfast will be awesome again. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
1/2 c mozzarella cheese
8 Eggs
2 c milk
1-1/2 c shredded cheddar cheese
2 pounds hot breakfast sausage
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 (30-32 ounces) bag frozen tater tots
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
Directions:
1. Prepare the oven and preheat to 175 degrees C or 350 degrees F.
2. Apply cooking spray in a 9×13-inch baking pan.
3. Place a large skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium.
4. Add the sausage, then cook until crumbly and brown. Remove excess fat.
5. Transfer the cooked sausage into a mixing bowl, then add the cheeses and tater tots. Toss everything until well blended. Make sure that the cheese has melted completely.
6. Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
7. In another mixing bowl, add garlic powder, milk, eggs, salt, and pepper. Beat until well blended.
8. Transfer the mixture on top of the tater tot mixture and spread it evenly.
9. Place it inside the preheated oven and bake for about an hour or until done.
10. Remove from the oven and allow it to rest for a few minutes at room temperature.
11. Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes:
You can prepare this casserole in advance. Place it inside the fridge to the freezer.
Make sure to thaw it first before baking for 30 minutes at 350 degrees F.
