This awesome cake is what you just might need today! Try this recipe and prepare to be amazed! What I love the most about this cake is the watermelon effect! My kids love it so much! Ingredients:
1/2 c plus 2 tablespoons miniature semisweet chocolate chips
1 box Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ white cake mix
Water, vegetable oil, and egg whites called for on the cake mix box
1 pkg(0.13 ounces) cherry-flavoured or other red-coloured unsweetened soft drink mix
1 container Betty Crocker™ Whipped fluffy white frosting
Green and red food colours
2/3 c green jelly beans
Directions:
Step 1: Prepare the oven and preheat to 175 degrees C or 350 degrees F.
Step 2: Apply cooking spray into two 9-inch cake pans.
Step 3: Add 1 tbsp of cake mix and 1/2 cup of chocolate chips into a mixing bowl. Stir until well combined.
Step 4: In another mixing bowl, add the rest of the cake mix, egg whites, oil, water, and drink mix. Beat until well mixed.
Step 5: Add 1/2 cup of chocolate chips and stir until well mixed.
Step 6: Transfer the mixture into the prepared cake pans.
Step 7: Place them inside the preheated oven and bake until a toothpick comes out clean after inserting it in the middle.
Step 8: Meanwhile, add 12 drops of green food colouring and 1 cup of frosting into a small mixing bowl. Stir until well blended.
Step 9: Add 12 drops of red food colouring and stir until well blended.
Step 10: Spread the frosting on the sides of the cakes, then press jelly beans on them.
Step 11: Spread the red frosting over the cakes, then add 2 tbsp of the chocolate chips on top.
Step 12: Slice the cakes into two.
Step 13: Serve and enjoy!
