This incredible Taco Bake Casserole is just pure joy! Try it and taste it yourself. Enjoy!
cooking spray (such as Pam®)
1 ½ lb ground beef
1 c chopped onion
½ c water
1 (1 oz) package taco seasoning mix
1 (10 oz) can refry beans (Optional)
½ c salsa
1 (6 oz) can slice black olives (Optional)
1 (4 oz) can dice green chiles
15 taco shells, broken up, or more to taste
2 c shredded Cheddar cheese
Step 1: Prepare the oven and preheat to 190 degrees C or 375 degrees F.
Step 2: Apply cooking spray in a 9×13-inch baking pan.
Step 3: Place a skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium.
Step 4: Add the ground beef and onions. Cook for about 10 minutes or until brown and translucent. Discard any excess fat.
Step 5: Add the taco seasoning and water. Stir and cook for 2 minutes or until the texture becomes thick.
Step 6: Add the salsa, olives, green chilis, and refried beans. Reduce the heat to low and cook for about 4 minutes.
Step 7: Arrange 1/2 of the taco shells on the bottom of the prepared baking pan.
Step 8: Add 1/2 of the meat mixture on top of the shells and spread it evenly.
Step 9: Sprinkle 1/3 of the Cheddar cheese on top of the meat mixture. Repeat the process until everything is arranged in layers.
Step 10: Place the baking pan inside the preheated oven and bake for about 20 minutes or until the cheese has melted completely.
Step 11: Remove from the oven and allow it to cool at room temperature.
Step 12: Serve and enjoy!
