BISCUITS AND GRAVY WITH SAUSAGE AND EGG BREAKFAST CASSEROLE

by Sheryl October 5, 2020

Prep Time: 20 mins | Cook Time: 45 mins | Total Time: 1 hr 5 mins | Yield: 8

This dish is perfect to eat at any time of the day! It is very satisfying and luscious. Once you get a bite of this creamy dish, you would want to eat the whole thing! Make sure to prepare more if you are having guests over because this is going to be a hit. Enjoy!

Ingredients:

8 count packages of biscuit dough (we used Grands, which are slightly bigger)
6 eggs
1 (2 3/4 ounce) package peppered gravy mix (makes 2 cups)
1 lb. sausage, any flavour
1 cup cheese, shredded
1/2 cup milk
salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

Step 1: Ready the oven and preheat to 350 degrees F or 175 degrees C.

Step 2: Apply cooking spray in a 13×9-inch baking pan.

Step 3: Place a skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium.

Step 4: Add the sausage and cook until the colour turns brown.

Step 5: Remove from the heat and remove the accumulated grease.

Step 6: Chip the biscuits and arrange them in a layer on the bottom of the prepared pan.

Step 7: Place the cooked sausage on top of the layer of biscuits and sprinkle cheese.

Step 8: In a medium mixing bowl, add the milk, eggs, salt, and pepper. Whisk until well mixed.

Step 9: Transfer the mixture over the biscuits and sausage layers.

Step 10: Refer to the instructions written on the package of the gravy. Pour in the gravy over the layers.

Step 11: Bake inside the preheated oven for 40 to 45 minutes or until heated through.

Step 12: Remove from the oven and let it sit at room temperature until warm.

Step 13: Serve and enjoy!

Notes:

1. You can prepare this a night before serving. Just place inside the oven until heated through and serve.

2. I prefer more gravy for this dish!
