Equipment

  • Baking Sheet
  • Parchment Paper

Ingredients

  • 1 package refrigerated crescent roll dough 8 oz
  • 4 oz cream cheese softened at room temperature
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries frozen work too, don't thaw first
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest optional

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a small bowl, mix the softened cream cheese with sugar until smooth and creamy. Fold in the lemon zest if using.
  • Unroll the crescent dough and separate into triangles along the perforated lines. Slightly flatten each triangle with your fingers to expand the surface area.
  • Spread approximately 1 tablespoon of the cream cheese mixture onto the wide end of each triangle. Top with 6-8 fresh blueberries, pressing them gently into the cream cheese.
  • Starting from the wide end, gently roll each triangle toward the pointed tip, creating a crescent shape. Place the rolls on your prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown. Allow to cool for at least 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For best results, make sure your cream cheese is properly softened to room temperature to avoid lumpy filling. Don't overload the rolls with filling to prevent spillage during baking. These rolls can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, or frozen for up to 1 month.
Try dusting with powdered sugar before serving or drizzling with a simple glaze made from powdered sugar and lemon juice for an extra touch of sweetness.
