Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs ground beef
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 4 - 5 medium russet potatoes
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded

Instructions

  • Step 1: Prepare the Beef Patties
    Season ground beef with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
    Shape into 6 patties and brown them in a skillet.
  • Step 2: Make the Gravy
    In the same skillet, whisk together 1 cup milk and flour until smooth.
    Slowly add the remaining milk to form a creamy gravy. Adjust seasoning as needed.
  • Step 3: Assemble the Bake
    Layer half of the potato and onion slices in a greased baking dish.
    Arrange the browned patties over the onions.
    Add the remaining potatoes and onions, then pour the prepared gravy over everything.
  • Step 4: Bake and Serve
    Cover the dish with foil and bake at 375°F for 1 hour.
    Uncover, top with shredded cheese, and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the cheese melts.
