Ingredients

Beef Mixture

  • 1 lb ground beef lean
  • 1 cup refried beans
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 tbsp minced garlic

Spices

  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp oregano

Wrap and Topping

  • 6 flour tortillas large
  • canola oil for frying
  • 2 cups shredded taco blend cheese

Instructions

  • Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat. Drain excess grease.
  • Add beans, onions, minced garlic, chili powder, cumin, oregano, and some tomato sauce to the beef. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Warm tortillas in the microwave to make them pliable.
  • Assemble the chimichangas by placing filling on each tortilla, folding, and securing with a toothpick.
  • Fry the chimichangas until crispy and browned.
  • Serve with heated tomato sauce and top with shredded cheese.

Notes
