Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour sifted
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup pecans chopped
  • 1 cup mixed candied fruit
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 1 cup eggnog
  • 1/4 cup melted butter

Instructions

  • Sift together flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Stir in pecans and mixed candied fruit.
  • Combine beaten eggs, eggnog, and melted butter.
  • Add the egg mixture to the dry ingredients, mixing just until moistened.
  • Pour the batter into a greased and floured loaf pan. Bake at 350°F for about 1 1/4 hours.
  • If desired, glaze the bread and garnish it with cherries.

Notes

For longer storage, wrap the bread tightly and freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat slices in a toaster or microwave for a warm treat.
