Ingredients

  • 2 cups Celery chopped
  • 2 cups Onion chopped
  • 2 tbsp Sage
  • 1 tbsp Poultry Seasoning
  • 1/2 cup Butter
  • 2 Eggs beaten
  • 8 cups Cornbread crumbled
  • 1 quart Chicken Broth
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Pepper

Instructions

  • Saute onion and celery until tender in a skillet with melted butter.
  • Mix crumbled cornbread and chicken broth in a large bowl.
  • Add salt, pepper, sage, poultry seasoning, celery, and onions to the cornbread mixture.
  • Beat the eggs and blend them into the dressing.
  • Pour the mixture into a baking dish and bake at 400°F for 35-40 minutes, uncovering during the last 15 minutes to brown the top.

Notes

Store leftover cornbread dressing in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. Freezing storage is possible for up to 1-2 months. Reheat before serving.
