Ingredients

Base and Aromatics

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Seafood Stock and Spices

  • 4 cups seafood stock
  • 1 tbsp smoked paprika

  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper

Seafood

  • 1 lb shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup crab meat cooked
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup white wine dry

Instructions

  • Melt butter and olive oil, sauté onion, celery, and garlic until softened.
  • Stir in flour to create a light roux, then add tomato paste.
  • Whisk in seafood stock and spices, bring to a boil, then simmer.
  • Stir in shrimp and crab, simmer until cooked, then add cream and wine.
  • Ladle into bowls and garnish with parsley or chives.

Notes

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently over low heat on the stovetop to preserve the creamy texture—avoid boiling.
