Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 5 cups packaged coleslaw mix
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp ginger paste
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 15 egg roll wrappers
  • 1 quart cooking oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 eggs, scrambled (optional)

Instructions

  • Saute the onions in a pan until tender. Add the ground pork and cook until browned.
  • Stir in the garlic, ginger, salt, and pepper. Add oyster sauce and combine. Cook cabbage for a few minutes.
  • Place filling on an egg roll wrapper, roll, secure ends with water. Repeat for all wrappers.
  • Heat cooking oil to 350-360°F. Deep fry egg rolls until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.

Notes

To store leftover egg rolls, cool completely before refrigerating. Reheat by baking or air frying until heated through and crispy. Variations include vegetarian options, spicier fillings, Asian fusion with different sauces, and baked egg rolls.
