Ingredients

  • 1 head Green cabbage chopped
  • 6 slices Bacon diced
  • 1 Yellow onion chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Instructions

  • In a large skillet, cook the diced bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove the bacon and set aside, leaving the grease in the skillet.
  • Add the chopped onion to the skillet and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  • Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Add the chopped cabbage to the skillet and stir to coat it in the bacon grease. Reduce the heat to medium-low, cover, and let it cook for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Uncover the skillet and season the cabbage with onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to taste.
  • Stir in the cooked bacon and let it heat through for 2-3 minutes before serving.

Notes

Adjust the seasonings to your preference. Use turkey bacon or plant-based alternatives for a lighter or vegetarian version.
