Equipment

  • Blender
  • Chilled Glasses

Ingredients

Shake Base

  • 2 cups vanilla ice cream premium quality
  • 1/2 cup milk whole milk preferred
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar adjust to taste

Purple Color Base

  • 1/2 cup frozen blueberries
  • 1/4 cup frozen blackberries

Toppings

  • whipped cream for topping
  • sprinkles or crushed cookies optional garnish

Instructions

  • Ensure your berries are properly frozen for at least 2 hours for the best texture. If using fresh berries, freeze them on a sheet pan to prevent clumping.
  • Place the vanilla ice cream, milk, sugar, and vanilla extract in a high-powered blender. Blend for 30 seconds on medium speed until just combined but still thick.
  • Add your frozen blueberries and blackberries to the ice cream mixture. Pulse blend for 45-60 seconds until the mixture turns that signature lavender-purple shade.
  • Check your consistency—the perfect Grimace Shake should be thick enough to hold a straw upright but still be sippable. If too thick, add milk one tablespoon at a time. If too thin, add 1/4 cup more ice cream.
  • Pour your purple creation into chilled glasses for that authentic frosty experience. Top with a generous swirl of whipped cream and optional sprinkles or crushed cookies.

Notes

For a dairy-free version, use coconut milk ice cream and almond milk. If you don't have blueberries, try 1/3 cup of grape juice concentrate with a drop of blue food coloring. Add a scoop of vanilla protein powder for a protein boost. Pre-chill your glasses in the freezer for 10 minutes to keep your shake colder longer.
